Welcome to My SIGHT. This is your personal portal that enables you to create, share and instigate your ideas to intellects around the globe. Read on to know how you can volunteer using this platform.

Step 1: Join the SIGHT Network

Quite arguably, the easiest of all steps, all you need is a valid IEEE e-mail alias, which comes free with IEEE membership. Registering with SIGHT enables you to keep up to date with events, news and opportunities across. You will be able to choose your technological and humanitarian interests as well.

PS: Only IEEE members are permitted to be part of SIGHT.

Step 2: Seek your interest(s)

Search for the group that suits your gusto. It may be based on humanitarian interest, technology, geographic location or something else. Although the choices are plenty, we encourage you to join with existing SIGs thereby strengthening them by sharing ideas. After all, none of us is as smart as all of us.

Step 3: Be active in the SIG

Participate in the discussions, meetings and call for volunteers, think, create and innovate (when in need of your technical/humanitarian skill set).

Start your own group

You may start a new SIG group provided you have a different idea or the existing groups do not suffice. However, it must adhere to the criteria below:

a. Minimum 6 members per SIG

b. An IEEE organizational unit to which the SIG is associated.

c. A group having 6 or less members will be listed as “Under Moderation” . The group’s functionalities other than “Add members” will be disabled.

d. A 30 day limit of the “Under moderation” tag will be allowed after which 3 warnings will be issued. Failure to respond will cause the SIG to be dissolved.

e. Upon meeting the threshold, the SIG will be approved.
